Mike Young, President/Partner
Mike Young has 44 years of professional experience specializing in various aspects of water treatment and distribution, wastewater treatment and collection, effluent reuse and delivery methods, hazardous materials and landfills. Mr. Young has extensive knowledge in the design, construction, operation and management of both water and wastewater facilities, development of capital improvement projects, management of municipal and private utilities, and conducting groundwater basin studies. Mike is one of the founding partners working with the organization since 2004.

Gary Steinmetz, General Superintendent/Partner
Gary Steinmetz has 60 years of experience in industrial, heavy commercial, and water and sewer works construction projects. He has been an estimator, superintendent and project manager during his professional career. His vast knowledge covers all phases and types of water and wastewater treatment plant construction, commercial and industrial facilities. Gary is a highly respected expert in the industry and brings valuable knowledge to each project. Gary is semi-retired, but still an active participant in our local production well project for the City of Prescott. One of the founding partners, Gary has worked with Fann Environmental since its inception in 2004.

Paul Johnson, Director of Operations
Paul oversees the essential field employees and their activities to ensure FE's projects stay on schedule and within budget with the goal of exceptional quality work that exceeds our customers' expectations. He has an extensive background in commercial, institutional, hospitality, and healthcare construction. Paul's project portfolio includes many large projects up to a $65 million addition and remodel of the downtown campus of MeritCare Health System in Fargo, ND. Paul has been working as a Construction Manager for the last 25 years. Paul joined Fann Environmental in 2019 after relocating from the upper midwest.

Jim Muylle, Chief Plant Operator and Operations Manager
Jim Muylle has over 40 years of experience working in the water and wastewater field as an Operations Manager. Mr. Muylle has extensive background in preparing both State and Federal reports, budgeting and tracking operating costs, and sampling, testing, and reporting for quality assurances. Jim is responsible for day-to-day operations and maintenance, monthly sample of retrieval, and monthly and annual reports for each plant currently being managed by Fann Environmental. Mr. Muylle has been with Fann Environmental since 2006.

Gary Regnier, Electrical-Controls Manager
Gary Regnier has 47 years of experience in the electrical construction field. Having graduated from the Jackson Area Vocational Technical School in 1973, he went on to qualify and obtain his A-Journeyman Electrical License after working in the field for four years on various projects throughout southern Minnesota. Mr. Regnier has owned and operated his own electrical company for over 30 years working throughout Phoenix, Prescott, and Minnesota. He possesses extensive skills and knowledge of the electrical industry, as well as working with customers, suppliers, employees, and accounting practices. Gary has been part of the Fann Environmental family since 2011.

Ryan Shy, Project Manager
Ryan Shy has 20 years of experience in the construction field and has successfully executed projects in excess of 3.4 million dollars. Ryan successfully completed the Arizona Business Management and AZ K-11 Electrical Licensing Exam and quickly worked his way up from a laborer to Journeyman and finally into an administrative level position. Ryan consistently finalizes projects on time and within budget. Mr. Shy has managed multiple commercial projects, drafting subcontract agreements, supervising employees on a day-to-day basis, and facilitating all other aspects of ongoing projects. Ryan joined Fann Environmental in 2018.

David "Bim" Syme, Senior Superintendent
Bim Syme has over 30 years experience specializing in underground utilities, roadway construction, and project development. He has worked throughout Arizona on various private and public projects with experience supervising up to 135 operators, laborers, and support personnel during his career including a two year period spent in Ghana, Africa.
Mr. Syme is responsible for overseeing the operations of active projects, developing and overseeing the crews, managing the materials and equipment needed to complete projects, and directing crews to keep projects within scope, time frame, and budget. Bim has a stellar reputation within the construction community and has developed an extensive list of contacts. He joined Fann Environmental in 2019.

Ricky Lee, Superintendent
Ricky Lee has over three decades of experience in all facets of the underground water utilities and construction industries with specialized expertise in deep dig and fiber-optic excavations, trenching, shoring, and temporary bypass and slip-liner installations. Over the course of his career, he has worked as an estimator, project manager, foreman, and heavy equipment operator throughout California and Nevada. Ricky has a proven track record as a project manager and foreman working with Los Angeles County Public Works and city officials on the execution of large-scale contracts in excess of $30 million such as the Hyperion Treatment Plant (turbine cooling lines), the wastewater reline under LAX airport, as well as multiple emergency operations including a 66-in emergency earthquake sewer pipe reline in downtown Los Angeles. Ricky joined Fann Environmental in 2021.

Bea Coons, Project Accounts Specialist
Bea was hired by Fann in January 2006 as a Construction Clerk and worked onsite as administrative support for the Prescott Valley Wastewater Treatment Plant field team. Upon the project's completion in April 2007, she transferred to the main office of Fann Environmental where her primary responsibilities include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, timesheets, and administrative support. Bea's decades of administrative experience and fifteen years with Fann Environmental make her essential to the daily operations at the company and a valuable part of the team.

Poppy Keegan, Executive Assistant
Poppy joined the Fann Environmental team in the spring of 2020. Ms. Keegan assists in the preparation of bid documents, contracts, subcontracts, project billing and tracking, and safety documentation. She also works with Human Resources and conducts orientation for new employees. Poppy is one of the company's Procore administrators and maintains the FE website. As a former teacher, Poppy is flexible and able to jump in and help others with any needs that they might have.
