Big Park WWTP Headworks

Scope of Work: The Big Park Domestic Wastewater Improvement District provides sanitary sewer service to portions of an unincorporated area in Yavapai County known as the Village of Oak Creek and Big Park. FE was the Design-Builder for this project which retrofitted the wastewater treatment plant's headworks with a new system. The work included the installation of a 2-inch water line, a concrete pad, steel walkway with grating, handrail, piping and pre-purchased headworks equipment.

Sedona WWRF Long Term Effluent System

Scope of Work: The FE Team served as the general contractor on this project, which consisted of the construction of an effluent booster station, upgrades to the effluent system surge tank, inter-connective piping to the existing effluent disposal system, construction of a 40 acre irrigation effluent disposal area, and upgrades to the existing effluent disposal wet lands.
The booster station included a cast-in-place concrete wet well, vertical turbine pumps and associated electrical and controls.

Camp Verde Wastewater Treatment Facility

Scope of Work: This project consisted of the construction of a new 0.65 mgpd wastewater treatment plant to replace the old lagoon treatment system. The project included the installation of a force main to the new headworks system, a wastewater treatment plant package from Aero-Mod, a septage receiving system, a plant water system, and sludge dewatering equipment.

City of Prescott Airport Wastewater Reclamation Facility

Scope of Work: This project was designed by Black Veatch to expand and upgrade the existing 0.8 mgd Wastewater Treatment Plant to a 2.2 mgd for the City of Prescott. The project included extensive earthwork and major concrete structures. It consisted of one 60' clarifier, headworks, anoxic basins, oxidation ditch, RAS pump station, automatic backwash filter, return flow lift station and UV disinfection system. The project was completed on time and within budget, no change orders were needed.

City of Prescott Airport Centrifuge Building &
Equipment Installation

Scope of Work: Fann Environmental served as the general contractor on this project, which included the installation of an owner-purchased Centrisys centrifuge sludge dewatering unit, underground piping, construction of a masonry building, electrical system work, and asphalt replacement. FE extended existing underground piping to supply the new equipment with waste material. Once installed, Fann Environmental constructed the new building around the equipment and provided connections for future expansion. FE coordinated commissioning and start-up services between the owner and equipment representatives.

City of Prescott Sundog WWTP Secondary Digester

Scope of Work: Fann Environmental served as the general contractor on this project. This project included the cleaning and recoating of the secondary digester, removal and replacement of digester mixers, upgrades to the structural building components, insulation of external mixing tubes, and painting/coating of the digester building and roof.
FE designed and provided solutions when it was discovered that several metal structural supports within the interior were compromised. By providing this service and additional value engineering during the project, Fann Environmental was able to complete the work and additional repairs under the original contract amount.

Globe Secondary Clarifier Removal and Installation

Scope of Work: Fann Environmental was contracted to provide the City of Globe with clarifier removal and installation at the city's wastewater treatment plant. The project included sandblasting all metal surfaces of the existing clarifier trough and supports, epoxy-coating all exposed metal surfaces, and the installation of new clarifier equipment pre-purchased by the city. The installation of the Westech Cage Drive Clarifier included all plumbing and electrical wiring necessary for clarifier operation.

Kearny Water Reclamation Facility Aeration Modifications

Scope of Work: FE was awarded the contract to perform upgrades to the aeration equipment located at the Kearny Water Reclamation Facility. The project consisted of automating three blowers using a control system consisting of dissolved oxygen sensors, a new programmable logic controller, variable frequency drives, and replacement of the existing UV disinfection system. This was a federally funded project.

Lake Havasu City Effluent Pump Station Improvements

Scope of Work: FE served as the general contractor for this project which consisted of the construction of the replacement station at the Mulberry Wastewater Treatment Plant. The work included removing the existing pump station and piping, furnishing and installing a new package pump station. FE also completed the excavation and compaction work necessary as well as laying the ductile iron pipe and fittings, Schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings, bowl-type strainer, cast-in-place pump station foundation, canopy, insulating flanges, all electrical and instrumentation, and SCADA system. The project also included the construction of flow control valve vaults and level controls at the London Bridge Golf Course East and West ponds.

Window Rock WWTP Improvements Phase 1

Scope of Work: FE served as the general contractor on this project. The project consisted of upgrades to the existing wastewater treatment plant headworks and electrical system, including new concrete structures, mechanical bar screen, grit removal system, flow metering system, two submersible pump systems, piping, and grading. The upgrades to the electrical system included new switchgear, site lighting, and power to the new equipment. Value Engineering from FE allowed enough savings to allow the Operations Building from Phase 2 to be built in Phase 1 under the same budget.

City of Page Wastewater Evaluation

Scope of Work: Fann Environmental was the Engineering Consultant for this project. FE evaluated the entire wastewater treatment system for the City of Page, which had bee in use for over 35 years. All components of the treatment system were evaluated including the influent structure, static screens, equalization tank, oxidation ditches, secondary clarifiers, an abandoned denitrification basin, sand filters, chlorine contact basin, solids handling tank and the electrical control system.
Several modifications and/or upgrades were recommended to the City to achieve a higher performance rate for treatment. These recommendations were provided in an order of priority to allow the City to budget accordingly.

Sedona WWTP Piping and Valve Diagram As-Builts

Scope of Work: Years of upgrades and changes left the City of Sedona without accurate drawings (blueprints) of the Wastewater Treatment Plant active process piping. FE reviewed all of the plant's design and construction drawings, surveyed the plant structures, and compiled all piping and facilities into one drawing. FE was able to determine which lines were active or abandoned and depicted the active pipelines. The project also included the development of a valve exercise program for the plant operators.

American Ranch Wastewater Evaluation

Scope of Work: Fann Environmental conducted an evaluation of this wastewater system, which included analysis of all system components and a review of operation financials. The analysis also included research of the original design assumptions/parameters and development of recommendations for normal operational procedures and changes needed for the facility with cost estimates of changes for both current flow and projected flows. Fann Environmental provided verbal and written reports to the District and a detailed presentation of findings, recommendations, and projected costs to the Board of Directors.
